DAY 1 – SUNDAY 23 DECEMBER
Your Lappish initiation begins
Arrive Rovaniemi and transfer to Pyhätunturi - – around 1.5 hours. Check in and collect your outdoor clothing and enjoy a welcome drink. After dinner, Lappish initiation ceremony where you will receive a reindeer bell to hang around your neck to ensure you don’t get lost in the snow! Try Lappish pancakes with a hot drink around the fire.

DAY 2 – MONDAY 24 DECEMBER
Santa, a sauna and some decorating.
Visit to Santa in his secret place in the forest. Travel by sleigh behind a snowmobile through the snow laden forest in the kaamos light in search of Santa. Follow the candlelit path to the secret place tucked away in the trees. Whilst waiting for your turn to visit Santa, enjoy a plate of traditional Finnish Christmas porridge and a hot drink in a kota around the fire. All good children can expect a present from Santa!
Light lunch in restaurant and, whilst adults relax with a Christmas drink, children will decorate the Christmas tree for tonight’s dinner. And why not do what the Finns do on Christmas Eve, have a sauna and roll in the snow or take a dip in the ice hole!
Special Christmas buffet this evening. And the excitement grows with the expectation of Santa arriving with his sleigh laden with presents … Meals included today: Breakfast, Christmas porridge, light lunch and dinner.

DAY 3 – TUESDAY 25 DECEMBER
Christmas service, ice fishing and snowmen.
Merry Christmas! For the early risers, take a walk carrying a lantern to light your way, to the Christmas service at the local Lutheran church.
Time for ice fishing on Pyhäjarvi lake. After drilling a hole in the ice with a giant corkscrew, drop a line into the dark water below and wait. With any luck, you might catch something for lunch! If not, hopefully your guide might find some fish in the nets under the ice. Lunch of hot soup, sausages and bread around the fire in Lappish kota. Later in the afternoon, join in the challenge of building a snowman and snow candles.

DAY 4 – WEDNESDAY 26 DECEMBER
Amethysts, huskies and reindeer.
Visit this morning to the Amethyst Mine the northernmost mine in the world. Situated on top of the fell, you have spectacular view of the surrounding area on clear days. After a presentation on the Amethyst stone, you have a chance to dig for your own stone.
After lunch, continue to the Husky and Reindeer Park. Following a talk on the huskies, experience the power of the dogs at work as you take a short sleigh ride through the forest. Then on to the reindeer area of the Park for a talk on reindeer husbandry and a reindeer sleigh ride. Meals included today: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

DAY 5 – THURSDAY 27 DECEMBER
Snowshoes and snowmobiles.
Another new experience awaits you this morning – snowshoe walking. Following your guide, enjoy a walk in the forest where the snow covering the vegetation on the forest floor creates strange and beautiful shapes.
After lunch, snowmobile safari through the surrounds of Pyhä. Feel the exhilaration of gliding across the snow through the forest on your ‘motorcycle on skis’. Snowmobile safaris are not always suitable for younger children so a child’s activity of baking Christmas biscuits and riding on a child’s snowmobile will be arranged for them.
During dinner this evening, receive your own Arctic Crossing Certificate to take home as a special souvenir of your visit to Lapland.

DAY 6 – FRIDAY 28 DECEMBER
Souvenirs and so long !!!
Sadly your time in this winter wonderland of Lapland has come to and end, but the warmth of a Lappish welcome will remain with your forever. Your private transfer back to Rovaniemi Airport allows time for a short stop at Santa's Village for some last minute souvenir shopping before continuing on your way to the airport.
