Your Magic of Lapland experience takes place in Finnish Lapland approximately 150km north of the Arctic Circle. Within this region the cabins and hotels are situated in and around the villages of €kŠslompolo, YllŠsjŠrvi, and Munio. Choose from a range of accommodation including hotel and secluded luxury log wood cabins. And if you want truly different experience, then the Torassieppi Reindeer Farm in Muonio, is almost completely remote.

The Magic of Lapland break is probably the top trip available from the UK to Lapland. It includes similar activities to other trips, however, all are done in the best manner possible in smaller groups than trips offered by any other Tour Operator.Santa

Below we list an example itinerary (taken from the Yllashumina), however, each accommodation and each duration will have a specific itinerary catered to it.

Example 3 night itinerary:

Day 1 - Includes 5km Husky Safari

0700-0800 Flights usually depart for Lapland from London Gatwick. Flight times is approximately 3.5 hours. On arrival to Lapland transfer to Akaslompolo and Yllashumina Hotel with a stop en-route to collect thermal clothing (transfer time approximately 50 mins). Simple light lunch is served in Yllashumina hotel.

1730 - Depart for a husky farm, home to over 100 huskies, where you will learn about the lives of the huskies and drive your own team of dogs through Lapland's wild countryside (5km).

1900-2000 Dinner at Yllashumina restaurant

Cabin in Wood

Day 2 - Lapp Village & Santa's Cabin

0800-1000 Breakfast

1015 Transfer to Lapp Village (approximately 5 minutes by coach) for Arctic circle ceremony and snow fun activities - tandem skiing, snowshoe walking, kick sledging, tobogganing and children's snowmobiling. Make gingerbread cookies and Christmas decorations in Poro restaurant in Lapp Village. Lunch is served throughout the day. You will receive an invite from Santa with your scheduled time for a visit. Visit to Santa starts with snowmobile ride of approximately 20 minutes, followed by a reindeer ride. Santa's cabin is in the forest and secluded and each family is guaranteed private audience. Santa reads children's letters and each child receives soft toy as a gift from Santa.

1800-2000 Dinner at Yllashumina restaurant.

Day 3 - Free Day

0800-1000 Breakfast in Yllashumina restaurant.

1200-1300 Lunch in Yllashumina restaurant.

Day 4 - Includes 25km Snowmobile Safari

0800-1000 Breakfast in Yllashumina restaurant. Morning free. If you choose to go on optional excursions please check-out after breakfast and before your morning activity.

1130 Check-out (you leave your luggage in Yllasumina pub that in your absence remains locked)

1200-1300 Light lunch at hotel

1300 Snowmobile safari through Lapland's unspoilt wilderness. After receiving driving instruction and safety equipment and advise you set off for a wilderness snowmobile safari. Two adults share snowmobile and children (and those who do not wish to drive) are pulled in the sleigh behind the snowmobiles. Half way stop in the forest for warm drinks and snack. On return to hotel you leave thermal clothing in Yllashumina pub and collect your luggage ready for transfer to airport.

1730 Depart for Kittila airport, Lapland (short stop on route for souvenir shopping)

2000 (approx.) Return flight to UK from Lapland. Land approx 2130hrs.

Magic of Lapland offer a selection of cabins in the village of Ylläsjarvi all built in traditional log or pine wood and equipped to high standards. With individual features, open plan design and a variety of locations varying from the more secluded to being near the ski resort, these cabins are spacious and benefit from being fully catered. Cabin sizes range from sleeping 6 persons to 14 persons.

Magic of Lapland offers two high quality cabins built from log wood and in a tradition style with fully modern furnishings.

Kyro Cabin

Sleeping up to 12 this log wood cabin is built in a traditional style with modern features. Located in a secluded area surrounded by few cabins this cabin has the forest on its doorstep.

Meals:

All meals that are taken in the cabin are prepared by our catering company that finishes cooking and lays out all meals in the cabin kitchen/dining room and fully cleans and removes all kitchenware when meals are finished. We also include a welcome basket on your arrival that includes a bottle of red and white wine, milk, coffee, tea, biscuits and soft drinks. Other food/drink requests can be ordered locally or at the time of booking.

Breakfast includes breads, eggs, cereals, cold meats, cheeses, juice, coffee, tea.

Lunch includes soup or pasta with salad and bread.

Dinner is based on three courses and differs each day including roast meats, reindeer, vegetables, potatoes, variety of salads, salmon mousse, butter, ice cream, dessert mousses, fruit.



Torassieppi Reindeer Farm

Almost completely remote, the Torassieppi Reindeer Farm has been a working, family run farm since the 1800's and welcoming visitors for nearly 100 years. A small cluster of cabins located on the lake's edge are only a few hundred metres from the family farm which also has it's own museam. With all activities starting directly from the cottages there are no transfers between activities once you arrive and the accommodation is for the exclusive use of Magic of Lapland clients.

Ylläshumina Log Cabin Hotel is a simple yet comfortable family-run hotel in the village of Äkäslompolo, Lapland. It has been uniquely designed with rooms being spread across 16 individual cabins that surround the main reception and restaurant building all within minutes walking distance from each other. The hotel offers more spacious accommodation in its apartments and the newly built superior rooms which boast a two-way fire place that divides the living and sleeping areas. With all rooms and apartments being built from traditional log wood and other natural materials that have been locally sourced, this hotel creates a true Scandinavian, festive ambience.

This newly renovated safari-style accommodation draws its strength from its location. Across the road from the Yllasjarvi Lake and 50m from cross-country and snowshoe walking trails, this hotel is designed for those wishing to be at the heart of Arctic activities. The Lappish teepee just outside the reception is warmed with an open fire in the evenings and reindeer skins are available on which to relax and wait for the Northern Lights to appear. Originally built as a Lappish recreation lodge for those keen on outdoor sports, the rooms are simple yet cosy and clean. The restaurant offers buffet, home-style cooking and Lappish food with panoramic windows overlooking the lake.

Snowmobile Safari to Reindeer Farm

Your excursion begins with a snowmobile drive across the wintry landscape to the reindeer farm, where you’ll not only meet the reindeer and learn about how they’re looked after but also go for a short trip in a reindeer sledge (and receive a Reindeer Driver’s Licence). Warm up with a hot chocolate or coffee before returning to town by snowmobile through the spectacula snow-covered forest.

Duration: 3 - 4 hours
Price: €123 per adult, €92 child when travelling in sledge behind snowmobile

Arctic Adventure by Snowmobile

A snowmobile safari into the incredible winter scenery of the Levi Fell area and back is an excellent chance to see some of Lapland’s picturesque Christmas card-like views. Feel the thrill of the speed of these Arctic vehicles and the excitement of driving along rough paths and over the fells into the wilderness.

During the safari, you’ll stop for an outdoor lunch prepared by your guide.

Night Safari by Snowmobile

This feels like a real adventure, leaving the lights of Levi behind for the evening and driving into the frozen wilderness by snowmobile: if you’re lucky you might even see the remarkable Northern Lights (aurora borealis) dancing against the dark sky. Your trip includes a light evening snack beside a flickering campfire.

Arctic Trip Around Levi Fell

Natural fell landscapes covered in snow create an excellent opportunity to take pictures of some beautiful scenery on this snowmobile trip just outside Levi.

You’ll get to drive on varying tracks around Levi Fell for a really memorable experience, and warm up by the campfire with a cup of coffee and friendly chatter.
