The area of Pyhä has much to offer. Besides the pristine wilderness, cosy log cabins and hotel of reputable standard.
Pyhä has one central shopping centre which houses a supermarket, post office, laundry, sports shop, coffee shops and souvenir stops. The supermarket also has a small selection of across the counter pharmaceutical products. The town of Kemijärvi is less than a one hour drive whilst Sodankylä is only fifty kilometres away. A day clinic is available in Pelkosenniemi whilst Kemijärvi has the nearest hospital.
With the bustling metropolis of Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland, only one and a half hours away, day trips to Rovaniemi are possible.

Santa Claus, Lady Santa and the elves have time to relax in summer. This is when a lucky wanderer can see them angling or picking berries on the fells of Lapland.
