Yllas’s seven fells rest east of Europe’s longest free streaming river, the Tornio-Muoniojoki, just over a 100 km north of the Arctic Circle. Dominated by its eponymous fells, including two original Sami villages, Akaslompolo and Yllasjarvi.

DAY 1
Depart Heathrow at 10.20AM on Finnair scheduled flight(s) via Helsinki to Kittila. Arrive 17.45PM Finnish time. You will transfer, by bus, to Akaslompolo, and collect your thermal clothing on the way. You will then check-in at the hotel, followed by a welcome drink, programme briefing, and a delicious Sami buffet supper.
DAY 2
After breakfast, you and your family will visit the Husky Kennels to meet the dogs who will be excitedly barking and howling to eagerly take you sledging through the white forest. Parents can drive their own sleigh while your children ride tucked up warmly in a sleigh, driven by your guide. Afterwards, you will return to your hotel for a delicious lunch. It will be party time on a frozen lake in the middle of the forest in the afternoon, using an old lumberjack’s cottage as a base.
Inside the cottage, Santa’s little helpers will show you and your family how to decorate gingerbread cookies. Outside the cabin, parents can try snowmobiling, while your children can have shot on a mini-snowmobile, go tobogganing, or listen to the guides recounting traditional Lappish tales around a warm open fire. At the same time, each family gets the chance to travel by reindeer sleigh to meet Father Christmas in his lakeside cabin home.
In the late afternoon, you will return to your hotel and to enjoy a traditional Sami Christmas buffet, culminating in a visit from Santa Claus and Rudolph, who will make earlier made wishes come true. Santa will give a present to everyone, grown ups and children alike.
DAY 3
After breakfast, you and your family will visit Mailan Putiikki, where you can purchase local crafts, Christmas decorations and cuddly plush Huskies before returning to the airport in Kittila for your Finnair scheduled flight(s) to Heathrow, where you will arrive at 17:10 PM UK time.

You will then return to your hotel for lunch, and have the afternoon, to fill at your leisure, before going to the nearby ski slop for a private tobogganing party. There will be games, hot chocolate and fun for the whole family. After the amusement, you will then return to your hotel for a hot and tasty supper.
