The Encounter / Legends short break takes you deep inside the Arctic Circle, to Hetta & Karesuando in the far north of Finnish Lapland. This is real Lapland and a perfect base from which to go in search of the real Father Christmas...
Please note:
There are some minor differences between the two itineraries.
A private family visit to Santa's secret cabin...
Some of the locals have reported seeing Santa's sleigh in this area, so each family will head into the woods in search of his secret log cabin. When you find Santa's cabin, it will be with some excitement, that you push open the door to discover Father Christmas himself, who is sure to have time to talk to each of the children individually.
Plus snow fun and arctic activities…
On the day we visit Father Christmas in his secret log cabin, we will also have the chance to enjoy a husky sleigh ride, a reindeer ride and a snowmobile ride; three forms of transport that give you a taste of the magical natural kingdom in which Santa has his home.
There's also time for the children to play in the snow and there will be snow hockey, tobogganing and Lappish lasso-throwing. A two-course lunch will warm you up and enhance your energy levels for the rest of the day's fun! There will also be a chance to enjoy a snowmobile ride before the full safari of the next day. On the Encounter short break there are also kids' snowmobiles and on these the rides are unlimited!
Arctic safaris by snowmobile, reindeer & husky…
A one and a half hour snowmobile safari will be an experience to remember. Adults will have the chance to drive their own. Kids will be pulled in a sleigh pulled by one of the snowmobiles.
We will also enjoy the memorable experience of a five-kilometre husky ride through the snow. The eager barking of the dogs as we arrive at the husky farm will indicate that they are ready to give you a swift ride!
A sumptuous festive dinner…
There is a festive atmosphere for the gala dinner on the last evening of your stay. You will be served with a special three-course meal.
