Fun in the snow with transun CHRISTMAS MAGIC

3 Nights including Christmas day & Boxing day - short break in Hetta

CHRISTMAS is always special but even more so when you are surrounded by the wilderness scenery of the far north of Finnish Lapland, where a blanket of snow covers the ground and there’s the added anticipation of meeting Father Christmas himself.

*** Every family guaranteed their own private meeting with Santa!***

What's included in the Arctic Legends Itinerary

Your Christmas Day experiences in Santa's kingdom will be just part of your Christmas Magic short break with Transun. There is so much more included. From tobogganing to snowman making, from a snowmobile adventure to a husky experience, your three-night break is filled with wonderful, magical experiences. Here is a typical itinerary.

Christmas Eve

Collect your special boarding pass at your check-in in the UK and keep it safe! Your flight departs around 10am and at Enontekio you are guided to your coach. The journey to Hetta takes around ten to 15 minutes. Watch out for reindeer in the woods!

Temperatures here can fall to -35C in December and we stop to collect your all-in-one thermal suits and boots, an essential part of your holiday package. Hats, scarves and gloves are also necessary, so remember to pack some for everyone!

After checking in at the Davvi Arctic Lodge, your Transun rep hosts a welcome meeting, giving you all the information needed to get the most from your break and during a welcome dinner your rep will answer any further questions. Tonight, you can join one of our optional activities, such as a snowmobile night safari, hoping to encounter the Northern Lights.

Christmas Day

After breakfast, you board the coach and head off for your special Supervised Snow Fun. This is a day of supervised activities that include a Snowshoe Trek (like walking on tennis racquets!), Snowball Throwing Contest, Tandem Skis (two people on one pair of skis ... with hilarious results) and Children's Skis, Snowman Building, Tug-of-War, Snow Hockey, and lots more! In addition, there will be a supervised kids' snowmobile ride. A hot lunch will be provided.

Then, the highlight of the day. With your special boarding pass, you join Santa's own reindeer sleigh in search of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa and receives a small gift.

Later, enjoy a Christmas Dinner at your hotel, complete with paper hats and streamers. After dinner, why not join an optional Northern Lights Husky Safari?

Boxing Day

After breakfast, you board the coach, heading for your first included Santa safari, either a thrilling 40-minute Husky Experience or an exhilarating 1.5-hour Snowmobile Adventure, followed by a warming lunch.

Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free of charge and kick sledges available upon payment of a deposit. Or, if you prefer, there's plenty of family fun to be had making snowmen or enjoying a good old-fashioned snowball fight!

Alternatively, you might opt to join the inside craft activities, or maybe try one of our exciting optional excursions, such as trying your hand at reindeer herding.

This evening, join us on a walk to the local church. After a short welcome by the local vicar and carol singing, you return to the for dinner. Then relax, or join one of our optional night safaris. You might see the Northern Lights.

December 27

Check out after breakfast, before boarding the coach for your last Santa safari, a 40-minute Husky Experience or a 1.5-hour Snowmobile Adventure, which ever you did not join on Day 3. There should be time for one final play in the snow or join one of our optional excursions, perhaps reindeer herding. After a hot lunch, we depart for Enontekio and your flight home.
